Iconic '80s Action Star Julia Nickson Makes Rare Public Appearance After Retiring From Acting originally appeared on Parade.

Back in the 1980s and early '90s, actress Julia Nickson was everywhere. With one of her earliest roles playing opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rambo: First Blood Part II, she quickly shot to stardom. Along with her roles in action movies, Nickson also appeared in popular TV series like Walker, Texas Ranger and soaps including Days of Our Lives.

Today, Nickson is 66 and is living a much quieter life. It's not often that we see her out and about, but as the Daily Mail reported, that all changed on Tuesday, August 12, when she made a rare appearance in Los Angeles.

Photographers captured Nickson running errands near her home, keeping it casual in a baseball cap and leggings. She looks a lot different than she did in her action star days, but then again, a lot of time has passed between then and now.

Those who follow Nickson on Instagram know that she occasionally keeps fans on Instagram, which is where she shared that she had decided to retire from acting "for personal reasons" in March 2025.

I grew up in Singapore where most of our moms didn’t have careers," she wrote at the time. "Working over 40 years in the US has been an extraordinary journey with many ups and downs. Feeling extraordinarily grateful for so many talented actors I have had the opportunity to be with on the screen. Forever grateful."

Now, it sounds like Nickson is enjoying a much more relaxed life, just as she deserves after a career like hers!
