Following the death of her former General Hospital co-star, Tristan Rogers, Emma Samms shared a heartfelt tribute honoring their friendship and his unforgettable legacy as Robert Scorpio.

Emma Samms, who portrays Holly Sutton, and Tristan Rogers, who played Robert Scorpio, made up the 1980s fan favorite General Hospital supercouple, Robert and Holly. The last time fans saw them together on screen, they were leaving Port Charles together in a Casablanca-like scene. When Rogers showed up for a short appearance in July, fans learned that they were living together in France, even though Holly was not shown because Samms's schedule wouldn't allow her to film when the scenes were scheduled.

What began as a marriage of convenience in 1983 turned into a love story that spanned over 40 years. A recent storyline revealed that they had a daughter together, and with the birth of her child, a grandchild as well. Fans of the pairing waited decades for the conwoman and the super spy hero to get their happily ever after, and they finally did.

As news of Tristan Rogers' passing began to spread, Samms took to social media to post a heartfelt tribute to her friend and co-star. She posted a picture of them from the show with the statement, "I'm incredibly sad to hear the news about Tristan. I loved working with him and we were both so grateful that we got the chance to do that for more than 40 years. He taught me how to be comfortable in front of the cameras and he introduced me to spontaneity and fun even within all the trials and tribulations that Robert and Holly endured. My condolences to his wife and family."

In a statement to Parade, General Hospital Executive Producer Frank Valentini said, “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers' passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”

Tristan Rogers was 79 when he passed away from lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa Parkerson, two children, and a grandchild.
