Aubrey Plaza’s call sheet is about to get a lot longer, as she’s come on to produce and star in “The Heidi Fleiss Story.”

Plaza will portray the infamous “Hollywood madam” Heidi Fleiss, busted in the early ‘90s for what was said to be the world’s largest high-end prostitution ring – which implicated Hollywood, politicians and other power figures.

The project marks the directorial debut of Leah Rachel (creator of Netflix’s “Chambers”). The film hails from Pinky Promise, Jessamine Burgum and Kara Durrett’s production company.

Heatseeking actress and Gen Z icon Rachel Sennott co-wrote the script with Rachel and Travis Jackson. Their take on the tabloid sensation follows Fleiss before trial, scrambling around Los Angeles trying to blackmail and leverage various connections to get the case dropped, with the help of an aspiring young writer named Jaclyn.

Production is set for Los Angeles in the coming months. Djinous Rowling is currently casting key roles. Burgum and Durrett will produce for Pinky Promise and Plaza will produce through her company Evil Hag.

Plaza will star in the upcoming Ethan Coen film “Honey Don’t” alongside Chris Evans and Margaret Qualley, as well as Legendary and Warner Bros.’ “Animal Friends.” She last appeared in the Emmy-nominated “Agatha All Along,” Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” and the 2024 Sundance darling “My Old Ass.” She’ll next be seen in Zack Woods’ directorial debut “The Accompanist” with Susan Sarandon. She is repped by CAA and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.

At only five years old, Pinky Promise has delivered award-winning and memorable indies like Andrea Arnold’s “Bird,” Pamela Anderson’s career redefining “The Last Showgirl,” “The Starling Girl,” Nick Kroll’s “I Don’t Understand You” and Regina Hall’s “Honk for Jesus, Save Your Soul.” They’re currently in production on “Wishful Thinking,” a surrealist rom-rom with Lewis Pullman and Maya Hawke, and will imminently release Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut “Eleanor the Great” starring June Squibb.
