Kristin Cavallari is opening up more about her "brutal" birthing experience.

On the Tuesday, Aug. 26 episode of Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari, the mom of three, 38, defended her decision to get an epidural for the birth of her three children, revealing that she had a "brutal" experience welcoming her first child, son Camden, 13. Cavallari, who shares her children with ex Jay Cutler, said that she was "suffering" in silence.

"With Cam, I was just trying to get by, quite honestly. And what the epidural did for me was it took away the contractions, but it didn't take away the feeling of my vagina literally feeling like it was ripping in half," she admitted.

"Epidural is great, but it didn't take away all of the pain," she continued. "I was still f------ suffering. I remember just lying in my hospital bed, just lying there in silence, and just tears just like running down my face. Because when I'm really in pain, you won't hear a peep out of me. I suffer in silence. That's just how I've always been."

The former couple welcomed their first child in 2012, before getting married the next year. Their second son Jaxon, 10, joined the family in 2014. A year later in 2015, Cavallari and Cutler announced the birth of their third child, Saylor, 9. The Uncommon James founder and the former NFL player split in April 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage and 10 years together.

When it comes to co-parenting, Cavallari always ensures that her kids are always the priority.

"Never put the kids in the middle of it, no matter how mad you are at your ex-spouse. One thing that my mom did was she never said anything bad about my dad," Cavallari said. "Now that I'm older, I really respect that. I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He's their father. That's important and they need to see that from me."

On Tuesday, June 3, the Laguna Beach alum's kids appeared on her podcast Let's Be Honest for the first time and spoke with their mom about a variety of topics, including what they thought about filming the family's new TV series Honestly Cavallari.

"Some of it was boring and then some of it was fun," Saylor answered when her mom asked what she thought of filming. "What part was boring?" Cavallari asked.

"Just when we'd talk," Saylor said. "It's not like we talk like a family ever," joked Camden.

Cavallari again asked her daughter what part was boring, to which she responded, "No, when we were just sitting down."

The proud mom then asked all three of her kids what was the most fun about filming the show.

"Them putting the mic on you and then you'd be like, 'Check check,' and then they'd look at you and be like," Camden said, showing a thumbs up at the end.

"You guys loved having a microphone," said Cavallari. She then asked if her kids liked the show after watching the first episode, to which they all said yes. Cavallari also asked if the experience of filming was what they expected.

"I just thought they'd come, put some cameras up, put some mics and then we'd just talk and film," Camden said. Cavallari went on to say that filming this show was one of the easiest experiences for her since they were just told to be themselves.

"I don't think any of it was really scripted except the last part," Camden admitted. "She told us some questions to ask you."
