With magazine-ready photoshoots and red carpet candids to choose from, these stars have great material for their dating app profile pics.

While some celebs stick with the traditional meet-cutes, plenty have joined the masses in swiping for love. From the celeb-exclusive app Raya to more mainstream platforms such as Tinder and Bumble, the online dating scene has lured a handful of A-listers. Some scored matches, some got ghosted and a few — like Zayn Malik and Andy Cohen — were accused of catfishing as themselves.

Ahead are the celebs who've gone on the record about their dating app experiences.

Lisa Ann Walter is on the lookout for love, but she has dealbreakers when browsing the apps.

“Someone who’s not married,” she told PEOPLE in March 2025. “When you look on a dating app, aren't you looking at code like, ‘Yeah, this guy's married?’ Not even the physical — it's what they say. It's like when they're like, ‘I want someone who has their own life going on, and we meet up occasionally, but we don't have to ... ’ like, he's basically saying, ‘Will you be my side chick?’ "

The Abbott Elementary star has also shared she's not venturing into the dating world alone, telling PEOPLE in August 2024 that she and her former Parent Trap castmate Elaine Hendrix often swap dating app stories and compare potential matches.

"She does send me her choices if either one of us are ever brave enough to go online and on the apps and look at guys," Walter said. "She'll say, 'What about this guy?' And, 'I think that could be fun.' But then we kind of talk each other out of it. So we're not great in that way."

Nikki Glaser

Nikki Glaser — who's been in an on-and-off relationship with Chris Convy for more than a decade — has had her fair share of experiences on Raya.

During a March 2025 episode of the Goop podcast, the comedian told host Gwyneth Paltrow that one familiar face kept popping up: Ben Affleck, whom Paltrow famously dated in the late '90s.

"Oh, I definitely — when I used to be on Raya, and he would come across, very concentrated check mark. Yes," Glaser said. "And never getting it back. There are so many there are so many celebrities that I saw on Raya."

Another A-lister who frequently appeared was none other than Andrew Garfield.

"I think Andrew Garfield's face came up for me so many times. Multiple times," Glaser said. "I'm sure he just didn't see my profile, even though I clicked on his a [million times]. They'll keep serving you up the same people, like, again and again for some reason."

Zayn Malik

Since his on-again-off-again relationship with model Gigi Hadid ended in 2021, Zayn Malik has opened up about the highs and lows of his dating experience.

In a May 2024 interview with NYLON, the former One Direction member admitted that dating apps haven't exactly worked in his favor.

“Everyone accused me of catfishing. They’re like, ‘What are you using Zayn Malik’s pictures for?’ " he said. “It’s not been too successful for me, I’ll be honest.”

Teri Hatcher

When it comes to dating apps, Teri Hatcher has "tried them all," but none of them quite panned out.

"You know, I thought, I'm gonna say to the universe that I am open and vulnerable, and I'm putting myself out there. That's what I thought my gesture of joining that Hinge app would be. And then they kicked me off," she said during a January 2024 appearance on Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone. "They thought I was pretending to be Teri Hatcher."

She continued, "They apologized, and then I was like, 'I'm sort of over it.' So now I'm over it. I'm definitely done with the dating apps, and I feel like if there's any way I'll go somewhere and meet someone, that's what it's gonna have to be, but honestly, I'm happy. I have a really full life, a really busy life. I have beautiful friends. I, you know, it's fine. I don't need a man. I have a cat."

David Harbour & Lily Allen

Talking about his romance with then-wife Lily Allen during a June 2022 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Harbour revealed they met on Raya.

"We met on one of them dating apps, and then we went on a date ... in London. She walked in and she said — she claims to have fallen in love with me at first sight — 'When I saw you, I saw the biggest person I'd ever seen in my life and also the smallest person I'd ever seen in my life.' "

The couple were married for four years before splitting in February 2025.

Bethenny Frankel

Though Bethenny Frankel once told PEOPLE she wanted to create her own dating app, she revealed in April 2021 that she met now-ex-husband Paul Bernon on an already-existing one. And yes, the businessman's profile was truthful.

"I was pretty lucky when I walked in and saw him," she said. "He had a twinkle. He came as advertised — better than advertised. He overshot the mark."

Since their split in May 2024, the Skinnygirl founder has said she's shifted her dating approach.

"I've tried to keep things on the DL," she told host Alix Earle in a March 2025 episode of the Hot Mess podcast. "I have always sort of wanted to know exactly what everything is, and I'm trying to let the wine breathe more versus what it is."

Adam Rippon

Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon had been on dating apps for a bit before swiping right on Jussi-Pekka Kajaala's Tinder profile in 2018, and by 2021, the duo had gotten engaged in Kajaala's home country, Finland. (They're now married!)

So what did Kajaala say that caused sparks to fly? "We matched on Tinder in Finland when I was there for a competition, and his opening line was, 'Are you here for business or are you here just to meet me?' " Rippon shared on Dancing with the Stars in April 2018.

Drew Barrymore

Ian Tuttle/Getty Drew Barrymore.

Back on The Drew Barrymore Show in September 2020, Drew Barrymore shared that she wasn't looking for love ("I have been in that mentality for the past five years, thinking I just don't have the bandwidth, I don't know if I'm willing to open [up,] I just can't fit it in").

But after watching the steamy Netflix hit Bridgerton changed her mind months later. "I got back on a dating app during Bridgerton," she admitted during a January 2021 episode of her talk show. "I was like, 'I'm not dead! I'm not dead!' For me, that was a big step."

However, Barrymore still hasn't fully warmed up to the apps.

"Every time I get on there, it does not feel great. I always last five days," Barrymore said on The Drew Barrymore Show in January 2024. "And this time my app has changed where it shows people like you, so it’s very flattering ... but I don’t know who anyone is, and it just feels scary to go out with a stranger."

Chrissy Metz

Appearing on a January 2021 episode of SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live, Chrissy Metz opened up about joining Bumble — where she soon matched with her now-ex-boyfriend Bradley Collins — at the start of the pandemic.

After deciding to hunker down in Nashville early on in the pandemic, she said she felt "kind of bored" and decided to "try the old Bumble."

"I love the idea that, like, the woman gets to take the first step. I think that's so cool, I love that," the former This Is Us star said of eventually connecting with Collins. "And yeah, I mean of course you got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a Prince."

Speaking with Chrissy Metz on his SiriusXM show about her luck with Bumble, Andy Cohen revealed that he was technically on Tinder — although he doesn't use it much.

"I'm on Tinder. I never check it, but I'm on Tinder," he told Metz, adding that he's "been kicked off Tinder for people saying I was impersonating me."

Luann de Lesseps

During a November 2020 episode of the Ex Appeal podcast, Luann de Lesseps said she met trainer Garth Wakeford on a dating app, with her initial reaction to his photo being, "He's too good to be true."

When they met for coffee, The Real Housewives of New York star was delighted to find out he was the real deal: "He's tall, he's handsome, he looks like a Viking."

Since her 2017 divorce, de Lesseps has kept things casual and turned to apps during the pandemic to keep meeting people.

"My niece got me on Hinge and then got me on Raya, so I've been kind of flirting on some dating apps," she shared. "It's so much fun to date, but with COVID, it's hard to date, so I feel like flirting is the next best thing."

Even now, Lesseps is still open to finding love, ideally someone who hits that "sweet spot" of being “age appropriate [and] who’s got a career.”

As she put it on a January 2024 episode of Tamron Hall: "I love men and I like to date and I like to flirt and I think there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m living my best life in my 50s, that’s all I’ve got to say."

Kiernan Shipka

In 2018, Kiernan Shipka acknowledged to Stylist that dating as a former child star isn't easy, but she's figured out a solution: "Raya for life. Love it. God bless Raya."

However, the actress has largely kept the details of her love life to herself.

"I’ve always had a healthy relationship with dating, but I’ve spent so much of my life in the public eye in one way or another, I’ve figured out that I need to set a boundary for myself and not talk about it," she told Cosmopolitan in December 2024.

Lizzo

Before she went public with stand-up comedian Mike Wright in 2022, Lizzo dabbled in online dating ... with mixed results.

"I've done Raya. I tried to match with John Mayer — it didn't work," the singer said during her 2019 visit to Busy Tonight. According to Lizzo, the celeb-based app is "boring," and romance hopefuls are more likely to find success on less restrictive platforms.

So, she tried a different route.

"My dancer wanted to have a hoe phase, so I decided to join her, and I went on one of the, you know, lower-echelon dating apps," she said. "No shade, but you don't have to get confirmed. ... So I hopped on it and I had a hoe phase for like a week and it was really fun."

Rebel Wilson

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Rebel Wilson attends the Monte-Carlo Gala on Sept. 24, 2020

Before meeting wife Ramona Agruma, the Senior Year actress revealed to PEOPLE she struggled with how to label herself when setting up her dating app profiles.

"I remember you had to tick a box saying 'Are you interested in men? Are you interested in women?' And they were the two options. It felt really weird," she said. "I haven't looked at every single [app], but the big ones we looked at, you still had to categorize yourself, and I just think there was a real gap in the dating app market because I think the existing ones skew older maybe or don't take into account this kind of movement of sexual fluidity."

Spotting that gap, Wilson helped create Fluid — a dating app (no longer active) built for users who didn't "have to actually define [themselves] or check a box to say ‘I’m straight, I’m gay, I’m bisexual.' "

Sam Smith

"No offense to people who go on Tinder, but I just feel like it's ruining romance, I really do," Sam Smith told the U.K.'s Metro in 2014. "We're losing the art of conversation and being able to go and speak to people, and you're swiping people."

That's not to say the singer is opposed to all dating apps! Smith shared that they got kicked off the dating app Hinge almost immediately: "They chucked me off of it after one night cause they thought I was a catfish pretending to be me."

Married five years before divorcing in March 2025, Ryan Lochte and Kayla Reid had a romance that started with a swipe.

When The Daily Mail asked Reid in 2016 how they met, she replied, "He was on Tinder. I might be on Tinder. That's all I'm going to say about it."

Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone has said she does "want to fall in love," but meeting people from dating apps has given her some challenges.

In a January 2024 interview with The Times, Stone recalled that she had some disappointing dating app encounters.

However, the actress noted that she formed meaningful connections when using dating apps, including two virtual relationships during the pandemic.

Tiffany Haddish gave us a glimpse at her past online dating adventures during her April 2018 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

While Haddish recently said she's currently "dating multiple people" in a May 2025 interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she probably isn't relying on apps to find her partner.

"Online dating — man, I don't like it, because I feel like that's where I meet a lot of creeps," she told Jimmy Fallon in 2018. "Dudes that have a really nice picture and you're like, 'Oh I can't wait to meet him,' and then you go to the Starbucks to meet him and you're like, 'Oh my God, he is a booger wolf' "

Laverne Cox

Dia Dipasupil/Getty Laverne Cox attends the 'Glam Masters' premiere in N.Y.C. on Feb. 26, 2018

During her February 2024 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Laverne Cox revealed she "met the love of my life on Tinder" — though the relationship has since ended — and admitted she learned a lot of lessons when using the apps.

"I started Internet dating in 2000. So I have been online dating, [using] dating apps for over 20 years," she said. "Because what I learned dating on being on dating apps on and off for years ... is that after a certain point, I was vibrating on a different level. And the f--- boys, they couldn't hear the frequency."

She added, "There's just certain things that became unacceptable in those first few messages."

Charlize Theron

During an April 2017 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Charlize Theron revealed that her friend Chelsea Handler had introduced her to the wild world of online dating.

"She was on her phone, and she showed it to me and she was explaining it to me in that Chelsea Handler way, which is just like, 'Yeah, everybody's doing this. What's wrong with you? Where have you been, under a rock?' " Theron said.

She continued, "So then I took real interest, and I was like, 'Okay, well tell me, how does it work?' And she's swiping all these faces of guys in all different sorts of — I'm going to sound like I'm 80. But they're in all sorts of different variations of no clothes, and then they know that you've just said, 'No, I don't like you.' "

Even with the intro lesson, Theron isn't convinced that dating apps are for her.

"And then you have to text them, and then the flirting starts. And it's kind of awkward because you don't know the person, and they're trying to be cute and they say weird things like, 'What's up, sexy?' And it's just awkward. This is why I'm still single. I just like a good old friend hooking you up, or, I don't know, introducing you. I'm so old school."

Khloé Kardashian

After her relationship with NBA player James Harden ended in 2016, Khloé Kardashian revealed on her now-defunct website KhloewithAK.com that she had a dating profile on OkCupid, which her best friend set up for her: "I've never done online dating before, but just for s---- and giggles, Malika [Haqq] and I decided to fill one out. It was actually really fun to do, LOL!"

Hilary Duff

After confirming years ago that her Tinder profile was real during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Hilary Duff featured the app in her music video for "Sparks," along with a few of her actual (and very lucky) matches.

"It kind of started out to be a joke with my girlfriends. I was like, 'Explain this whole thing to me because it's kind of blowing my mind,'" she told PEOPLE in May 2015. "In my life, I've always had really serious boyfriends, I've always met people through work, and I've never been on a blind date."

Duff is now married to musician Matthew Koma, with whom she has three daughters. She also has a son from a previous marriage.

Martha Stewart

Are you looking for a woman who can teach you how to bake an apple pie to perfection and live your best, most Pinterest-worthy life? Then you might want to try Match.com, where Martha Stewart was a member as of 2013.

"I've always been a big believer that technology, if used well, can enhance one's life," she said on the Today show that same year. "So here I am, looking to enhance my dating life."

Chace Crawford

Chace Crawford revealed in a June 2024 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast that he was single — and, against all advice, joined Raya.

"Everyone told me not to do it," the Gossip Girl alum admitted, clarifying that he hadn’t actually met up with anyone from the app at that time. "I haven't engaged at all, I'm [in a] creeper phase, like figuring this thing out."

“The only connection I’ve had [was with someone in] Indonesia,” Crawford said. “Okay, great. When am I going to go to Bali? Never. Okay.”

Katy Perry

Back in 2014, Katy Perry told The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 that she was "really deep on Tinder, so I don't have a whole lot of time." (How many pickup lines about cherry ChapStick do you think she had to endure?)

Perry went on to meet Orlando Bloom and they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020. Most recently, the singer and actor announced that they ended their engagement.
